Pace Ranch Walnut Bowls

The walnut for this collection of hand made bowls comes from the Pace Ranch in Castle Valley, UT, one of the first settlements in the valley. In the early 1800's settlers planted many trees that were useful to them including pecan and walnut. The walnut trees used in these pieces were close to the house and died of old age. We removed the trees for free so we could utilize the wood. The trees took up the minerals from the ground, producing dark hard wood with contrasting light sapwood.
